NDIS physiotherapy

Physiotherapy that comes to you

Up the Road Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation visits NDIS participants at home across the Gold Coast: children with developmental needs, and adults living with disability.

Who we see

We work with self-managed and plan-managed participants.

We aren’t a registered NDIS provider, so we can’t currently see participants whose therapy budget is NDIA-managed (agency-managed). Not sure which you are? Your plan, your plan manager or your support coordinator can tell you, or just ask us.

Children

Shreya works with children from babies to teenagers, including children with developmental delay, autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, hypermobility, and other neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.

Sessions are play-based and built around each child’s interests and goals: gross motor skills such as crawling, walking, balance, coordination, running, jumping and ball skills, as well as equipment, and strategies for parents, carers, kindy and school.

When do parents usually get in touch?

Often when a child seems clumsy, trips or falls a lot, finds balance or coordination hard, struggles to keep up with friends in play or sport, walks or runs in an unusual way, or complains of aching joints. An assessment helps work out what’s going on and whether physiotherapy is a good fit.

Visits can happen at home, childcare, kindy, school or the pool (hydrotherapy).

To do

Shreya to confirm she’s happy to list these conditions on the website (autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, hypermobility). Remove any she’d rather not name.

Adults

To do — Shreya to confirm or rewrite in her own words

Draft wording: “Mobility, strength and balance, falls prevention, transfers, equipment and home set-up, and exercise programs you can keep doing between visits.”

What to expect

  1. Get in touch. Call, book online, or your support coordinator sends a referral.
  2. Check your funding. We confirm your plan has therapy funding (Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living) and how it’s managed.
  3. Service agreement. We send a short written agreement covering the plan, fees, travel and cancellations. Nothing is booked until you’re happy with it.
  4. First visit. Shreya meets you at home, or at school or kindy if that suits better, talks through your goals and does an assessment (about 60 minutes).
  5. A plan and a program. You get practical exercises and strategies to use between visits, and reports for your NDIS plan review when you need them.

Costs

Initial assessment $275.99 (60-minute visit + 30 minutes of notes); follow-up visits $183.99 (45-minute visit + 15 minutes of notes), all within the NDIS price limits. Travel time and kilometres are listed as separate lines on the invoice, as the NDIS requires. Plan-managed participants pay nothing out of pocket.
